About me

As a child I could not tell whether I wanted to be a doctor or a systems engineer. I settled it with a piece of reasoning that strikes me today as sounder than it had any right to be at that age: engineering is structure and can be learned later; medicine is content and you have to come in through the front door. I came in through the front door.

I studied medicine at Universidad de La Sabana, in Colombia. From my first semester I looked for a way to bring the two fields together. In 2013 I founded MD-Student.com, a community for medical students: I learned a great deal and I never got it where I wanted it to go. In 2022 I started Meducatron, and it took me until 2026 to really understand what I wanted to do with it. Today it is a medical directory platform in Mexico, and several of the projects that appear on this site come out of it.

None of that took me out of the consulting room. I had my degree recognised in Mexico and I see patients every day. That is what gives me the real problem: every tool I build comes from something I missed in clinic, while studying, or while managing my own money.

Hence the three things I write about here. Medicine, for doctors and for patients. Technology and artificial intelligence, because I use them to build and I think doctors should know how to use them. And economics, because I learned to invest late and on my own, and nobody taught me during my degree.
